What is the Alpha Course?

Alpha is a nationwide course that has been running in churches of all denominations since the early 1990s. It was started at Holy Trinity Brompton in London by Rev. Nicky Gumbel and is now used all over the world. The whole course usually lasts for about 10 weeks, with a day away in the middle. There is no charge for attending the Alpha course, although a contribution towards the food is invited.
